With the rising technology advancements, the overhyped approach to AI systems is misleading the tech world. Tej Kohli, a staunch name in UK-based tech investments, warns about the potential risks of the overhyped utilization of AI resources.

According to the Indian-origin philanthropist Tej Kohli, "AI is overhyped, and by funneling resources disproportionately into AI, we’re failing to recognize the enormous potential of other emerging technologies.”

Articulating for UKTN, Kohli points out that a single-side focus on AI will put at stake the breakthrough potential of other emerging technologies. It includes resources like Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), Advanced Biotech, and Quantum Computing. Kohli believes that these groundbreaking technology fields can be even more impactful rather AI.

Reasons Why Tej Kohli Finds AI Overhyped

In his statement of calling AI "Overhyped" and "Overfunded", Tej Kohli warns about upcoming tech hurdles. Though he aligns with AI when compared to the personal computing revolution (the 1970s) imbalanced increments will bring technological disasters. Hence, he contends diminishing the global obsession with AI.

If the world sticks with AI for a long time, it will gradually create loopholes for other technology innovations. Chances are high of not being able to survive due to lacking global recognition.

“AI has taken on an almost mythical quality. While it can solve complex problems and enhance human capabilities, it is far from the ultimate solution to our technological future,” Tej Kohli said.
